UAE Visit Visa: 30 Days vs 60 Days, Which Should You Choose?
Compare the UAE 30-day and 60-day visit visa: estimated fees, single vs multiple entry, documents, and tips to pick the right one for your trip or family visit.
Planning a trip to the UAE, or inviting family to visit? One of the first choices is the length of the visa. The two most common tourist visa options are 30 days and 60 days. Both can be single entry or multiple entry, depending on what is available for your case.
This guide compares the two, so you can pick the one that fits your plans and budget.
First, do you even need a visa?
Some nationalities can enter the UAE without a pre-arranged visa, or get a visa on arrival. Others need to apply before they travel. The rules depend on your passport, and they can change. Send us your nationality and we will check what applies to you.
The 30-day visit visa
The 30-day tourist visa is the most popular choice for short holidays.
Good for:
- Holidays of one to three weeks
- Business meetings or short events
- Quick family visits
- Travellers on a tight budget
Estimated GDRFA fee: about AED 300 + 5% VAT.
The 60-day visit visa
The 60-day tourist visa gives more time, which is useful for longer stays.
Good for:
- Parents or relatives visiting for a long family stay
- Visitors helping with a new baby or family event
- Travellers combining the UAE with nearby trips
- People who want flexibility in their return date
Estimated GDRFA fee: about AED 500 + 5% VAT.
These fee figures are estimates only. Insurance and other charges may apply, and government fees can change. Our service fee is confirmed on WhatsApp before you pay.
Quick comparison
- Stay length: 30 days vs 60 days from the date of entry
- Estimated government fee: about AED 300 vs about AED 500, plus 5% VAT
- Best for: short trips vs long family stays
- Entry type: single or multiple entry options may be available for both
Single entry or multiple entry?
- Single entry lets you enter once. If you leave, the visa ends, even if days remain.
- Multiple entry lets you leave and come back within the validity period. This is handy if you plan a side trip to a nearby country.
If you travel often, ask about the 5-year multiple-entry tourist visa. It usually requires proof of a bank balance of about USD 4,000 (or equivalent) over the last 6 months. We check whether it suits you.
Visa through a tourism company vs a relative
A tourist visa is usually issued through a licensed tourism establishment, like the service we support. Another route is a visit visa sponsored by a relative or friend living in the UAE.
For relative and friend visit visas, the sponsor must meet income tiers set by ICP. Based on recent guidance, these are about:
- AED 4,000 per month for first-degree relatives
- AED 8,000 per month for second or third-degree relatives
- AED 15,000 per month for friends
These tiers are recent and may be updated. We confirm the current rule for your case.
Documents you will usually need
- A passport valid for at least 6 months
- A recent passport-size photo with a white background
- UAE health insurance valid for your stay
- A return or onward ticket
- Hotel booking or the address where you will stay
- For relative visas: the sponsor's Emirates ID, residence visa and proof of income
How to choose the right one
Ask yourself these questions:
- How long will I really stay? Add a few extra days for flight changes.
- Will I leave and come back? If yes, look at multiple entry.
- What is my budget? The 60-day visa costs more, but may be cheaper than extending a 30-day one.
- Will I travel to the UAE again soon? A longer multiple-entry visa may make sense.
Overstaying can lead to fines, so always choose a visa that covers your full trip.
Can I extend my visit visa?
Extension rules depend on the visa type and the current policy. Some visit visas can be extended from inside the UAE, others cannot. Talk to us well before your visa ends, so we can check your options.
